WHEAT PORRIDGE

2 Cups (Approx. 1 lb / 454g) Whole Wheat Grain 1.5 lb (680g) Beef Shank 4 Garlic Cloves 1 Onions 2 Onions 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil Salt, Cinnamon Powder PREPARATIONS: 1- Soak the whole wheat for at least 4 hours. 2- Dice or slice two onions into rings. DIRECTIONS: 1- Transfer beef shank to a large pot and cover with water. 2- Over medium heat, boil for 5 minutes. Remove produced foam from the water as much as you can. 3- Stir in garlic cloves and one sliced onion. 4- Add soaked whole wheat to the pot and stir. 5- Pour in more water if needed. 6- Cover the pot with a lid (leave a crack open for steam to scape). 7- Over medium-low heat, Simmer for 4 hours. 8- Remove bones (if any) from the cooked beef shank. 9- Stir in as much as salt you'd prefer. 10- Mash the ingredients until well mashed. 11- Continue the heat for 10 more minutes. 12- Meanwhile, fry 2 sliced onions in vegetable oil until golden. 13- Serve Halim in a dish, garnish with fried onions and cinnamon powder.
