1 Cup All Purpose Flour 3.2 oz (90 g) Unsalted Butter 2 Tbsp Sugar 1/4 Tsp Salt 1 Egg (Yolk) 1/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract 1 Tsp Baking Powder Powdered Sugar (1 tbsp) Strawberry Jam PREPARATIONS: 1- None DIRECTIONS: 1-Whisk butter, sugar and salt in a bowl until well mixed. 2- Add the egg yolk to the bowl and whisk well. 3- Add the vanilla extract and baking powder and stir well. 4- Add the flour gradually and mix well and knead for few minutes. 5- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep in refrigerator for 30 minutes. 6- Roll out the dough to a 1/4 inch or half centimeter thick. 7- Use a cookie cutter (round or heart shape) and cut out the dough. 8- Use a smaller cookie cutter and cut out the centers of half of the cookies. Re roll the unused part of the batter and repeat step 6 to 8. 9- Place the cookies on a floured bakeware. 10- Preheat the oven to 350º F(176º C), and cook the cookies for 6 minutes. 11- Allow the cookies to cool down. 12- Separate the cut out cookies and the full ones and dust the cut out cookies with powdered sugar. 13- Spread a layer of strawberry jam on the full cookies (bottom surface). 14- place a cut out cookie on top.
