LASAGNA

"Mushroom and Beef Lasagna"

9 oz (255 g) No-Boil Lasagna Noodles (12 sheets) 1/2 lb (227 g) Mushrooms 1/2 lb (227 g) Ground Beef 4 Cups Mozzarella Cheese (Grated) oz (425 g) Ricotta Cheese 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese (Grated) 2 Cups Marinara Sauce 1/2 Bunch Parsley (Fresh) 2 Eggs 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 Small Onion 2 Garlic Cloves Oregano, Basil, Ground Chili Pepper, White Pepper Powder, Salt 1 Tbsp tomato Paste PREPARATIONS: 1- Slice the onions. 2- Slice the Mushrooms. 3- Mince the fresh parsley. 4- Grate the parmesan and mozzarella cheese (if not grated). DIRECTIONS: 1- Fry the onions in a large pan with 2 tbsp olive oil until golden. 2- Mash 2 garlic cloves into the pan, stir and continue frying for few more minutes. 3- Add the ground beef to the pan, stir and continue frying until beef becomes dark. 4- Add dried ground basil, oregano and ground chili pepper as preferred. 5- Add a tablespoon tomato paste, stir until well mixed. 6- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan, stir and fry over low heat until the mushrooms become dark and cooked. 7- Meanwhile, Beat 2 eggs in a large bowl until stiff. 8- Add white pepper powder and stir. 9- Add the ricotta cheese to the bowl. Mash and stir until well mixed. 10- Add the minced parsley and a pinch of salt to the bowl, stir well. 11- Add the grated parmesan cheese to the bowl, mix. 12- Add 2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese to the bowl and mix thoroughly. 13- Back to the beef/mushrooms pan, add some salt, stir and let fry for few more minutes. 14- Spray a 2 inch deep cookware with vegetable oil cooking spray. 15- Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce across the cookware to cover the surface. 16- Lay four sheets of lasagna sheets over the sauce. 17- Top the lasagna sheets with half of the cheese mixture and spread across evenly. 18- Top the cheese layer with half of the beef and mushrooms mixture. 19- Add a layer of marinara sauce (1/2 cup) to cover the mushroom mixture. 20- Top the layers with mozzarella cheese. 21- Repeat step 16 through 20 to create another layer. 22- Lay four more lasagna sheets on top. 23- Cover the lasagna with the remaining of marinara sauce and top it with the remaining of mozzarella cheese. 24- Cover the cookware with aluminum foil. 25- Preheat the oven to 375º F (190 C), bake the lasagna for 45 minutes. 26- Remove the aluminum foil cover and continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes more. 27- Remove the lasagna from the oven. Allow it to cool down for 10 minutes.
