Sushi (California Roll) Recipe
1 lb (454g) Imitation Crab 1.5 Cup (Short or Medium Grain) Rice 1 Avocado 1 Lime Roasted Seaweed 1 Tbsp Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise 2 Tbsp Sugar 1 Tsp Sugar 2 Tbsp Mirin 2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/8 Tsp Salt Sesame Seeds Black Sesame Seeds Preparations: 1- Dice the imitation crab. 2- Wash the rinse the rice. 3- Slice the avocado and add lime or lemon juice to prevent from browning. Directions: 1- Place the diced imitation crab into a large bowl. 2- Add srirachi hot chili sauce and mayonnaise. Stir until well mixed. 3- Cover the bowl and place in refrigerator for at least an hour to marinade. 4- Transfer the rice to a pot. 5- Add a pinch of salt and pour in 1.5 cup of water. Stir thoroughly. 6- Over medium-low heat, boil the rice until the water is evaporated for about 10 minutes. 7- Cover the pot with napkin and lid and continue cooking for about 30 minutes. 8- Combine rice vinegar, 1 tsp sugar, and 1/2 tsp salt. stir until well mixed. 9- Stir in the mixture to the rice. Cover the pot and continue heating for 10 more minutes. EEL SAUCE; 10- Combine soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, and mirin in a saucepan. 11- Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until it thickens to preferred density. 12- Transfer the rice to a dish. Set aside to cool down. 13- Lay a seaweed over a bamboo sushi mat. 14- Cover the seaweed with a layer of rice. (wet your hands before handling the rice). Press the rice down over the seaweed. 15- Garnish with sesame seeds. 16- Flop the seaweed over. 17- Add the imitation crab over the seaweed and Lay few avocado slices next to it. 18- Roll the layers using the bamboo mat while putting pressure. 19- Garnish the sushi with black sesame seeds. CUTTING: 20- To cut the sushi, cover the sushi with plastic wrap and start cutting from the center. 21- Transfer the sushi slice to a dish and garnish with the eel sauce.
