Ossobuco Recipe
3 to 4 Veal Shanks or (Beef Shanks) (3 lbs - 1.4 Kg) 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour 3 Cups Beef Broth 10 oz (283g) Celery 10 oz (283g) Carrots 1 Large Tomato 4 Garlic Cloves 1 Small Onion 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil 2 Bay Leaves Dried Rosemary Salt, Black Pepper Preparations: 1- Dice the onion, celery, carrots and tomato. Directions: 1- Combine flour with salt and pepper (as much as preferred) in a bowl. 2- Deep the beef shanks in the flour mixture. 3- Fry the beef shanks with vegetable oil in a slow cooker. 4- Remove the beef shanks from the slow cooker. 5- Add the diced onions into the slow cooker and fry until golden. 6- Stir in the diced celery, carrots, tomatoes and garlic cloves to the onions. 7- Continue frying (medium heat) for 8 minutes. 8- Stir in dried rosemary, bay leaves and a pinch of salt. 9- Pour in enough beef broth to cover the beef shanks. (Approx. 2 cups). 10- Cook the shanks for about 2 hours over medium heat.
